79-year-old woman killed after Cadillac crashes into tree in Arlington 

ARLINGTON, TX – A 79-year-old female passenger was killed in a single-Cadillac collision that occurred along Sam Houston High School on Sunday. 

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, a 66-year-old woman was driving north on the 2600th block of New York Avenue when another vehicle unexpectedly entered her lane, cutting her off. She swerved to try to avoid a crash, leading her to crash her  2019 Cadillac CT5 into a tree in the median. 

EMS crews rushed the 66-year-old woman and her passenger, a 79-year-old woman, to a local hospital. There, the 79-year-old woman died, while the 66-year-old woman received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. 

Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the 79-year-old woman’s name once her next of kin is notified. 

Police did not say if they cited the driver who supposedly cut off the Cadillac, and are actively working to determine other factors behind the single-Cadillac collision.
