2 critically injured in FedEx truck-train collision near Itasca
NEAR ITASCA, TX – Two people were critically injured as a result of a FedEx truck-train collision that happened on Thursday between Itasca and Grandview.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. off State Highway 81 and Country Road 4148, according to NBCDFW. There, a train crashed into a FedEx truck that was crossing the tracks.
The truck driver and passenger were left in critical condition and were rushed to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries, while crew members of the Union Pacific train were uninjured.
On an unrelated note, a first responder had a heart-related emergency that warranted the response from medics, according to the Hill County Sheriff’s Office. It’s unclear whether this event was related to the FedEx truck-train collision.
