1 killed, another hospitalized after two-vehicle crash in Plano
PLANO, TX – One person was killed, and another was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash in the Parker Road Estates neighborhood on Friday.
Plano Police told WFAA that the incident occurred before 3 p.m. at the intersection of Mission Ridge Road and West Parker Road. Police said a Nissan Frontier driver was turning onto southbound Mission Ridge Road from westbound on West Parker Road when they collided with an Infiniti QX50, traveling east on Parker Road.
The impact of the crash caused the Infiniti driver to crash their vehicle into a pole, leaving them with serious injuries, and leading to their female passenger’s death.
Plano Fire-Rescue confirmed the Infiniti passenger died from her injuries at the scene and evaluated a Nissan passenger for injuries, but did not need to take them to a hospital.
Officials shut down eastbound West Parker Road for the overall scene clean-up process and investigation.
The victim’s identity will be released once her family is notified.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
