Melody Newhouse killed in two-vehicle collision in Farmersville 

FARMERSVILLE, TX – A teenage girl, later identified as Melody Newhouse, was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Farmersville on Friday. 

Farmersville Police Chief Marsha Phillips told WFAA that the crash happened on Highway 78 near Farmersville High School. 

Phillips said that a man was driving in the wrong direction and collided with a vehicle occupied by Melody, a passenger, and Melody’s driver. 

Melody, a 10th-grade student at Farmersville High School, unfortunately died from her injuries. 

Melody’s driver, a female who graduated from the high school in 2025, and the male driver, who graduated from the high school in 2024, survived and were sent to the hospital for unspecified injuries. 

Phillips has not confirmed whether this was a head-on crash or why the male driver was driving in the wrong direction.
