Alleged DUI driver arrested after Fort Worth crash that injured Claudia Luna, another person

FORT WORTH, TX – A man suspected of driving while intoxicated was arrested for his involvement in a crash that injured two people on Sunday.

The incident unfolded before 1:30 a.m. on Interstate 35W, past Interstate 20 and near Altamesa Boulevard, Fox4News said. The accused DUI driver, Gustavo Diaz, rear-ended an SUV.

The impact left two SUV occupants, one of whom was identified as Claudia Luna, injured. Both were sent to the hospital.

Luna shared a video with the source, showcasing an open wound at the top of her head as well as several bruises.

Luna was treated for her injuries and has since been released from the hospital, while the other SUV occupant, who remains unidentified, is in critical condition with a broken leg.

Diaz attempted to flee the scene, but was apprehended by Fort Worth police. This was his second time being arrested. His first arrest was for DWI on Sunday, Oct. 18. Now, he is being charged with two counts of intoxication, assault, and collision involving serious bodily injury.

A full investigation remains ongoing.
