Young man struck, killed by drilling rig at Dallas ISD construction site
DALLAS, TX – A 19-year-old man died just over two weeks ago in Dallas after being struck by a drilling rig while working at a construction site for a new school.
According to Fox 4 KDFW, the incident happened on Tuesday, August 1st, at the construction site for Everette Lee DeGolyer Elementary School, which is a new school on Flair Drive in northwest Dallas.
The investigation thus far indicates that the victim, identified as Boston Monett, was likely struck on the right side of his head by a drilling rig. Monett had been working for Maxon Drilling for two weeks at the time of the accident.
Officials say that an investigation is open with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
