Fatalities reported in Parker Co. crash on FM 51 near Friendship Rd

WEATHERFORD, TX – At least two people died in a major accident along FM 51 in central Parker County on Sunday afternoon, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened near the intersection with Friendship Road on the northern outskirts of Weatherford. This is about 30 miles west of Fort Worth.

Police haven’t yet shared any details regarding the cause of the accident or the number of vehicles involved.

Thus far, authorities have identified the victims as a 66-year-old man from Springtown and a 29-year-old woman from Boyd. Names have not been released, and officials say there were likely additional fatalities and/or injuries.

An air ambulance and several ground ambulances responded to the scene along with Weatherford police.

Officials closed FM 51 in the area of the accident until at least 3:45 p.m. while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
