Pickup truck vs. semi crash on US-287 near FM 407 kills 1

WISE CO., TX – A 39-year-old man died last Monday in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi along the highway in southeast Wise County., reports The Gilmer Mirror.

The accident happened at 4:20 p.m. on the northbound side of US-287 near FM 407, or Illinois Street. This is around 29 miles northwest of Fort Worth near the city of Rhome.

Police say that for unknown reasons, a northbound 2007 Dodge 1500 rear-ended a 2015 Peterbilt semi. The driver of the Dodge, identified as Houston Gabriel Olthoff of Fort Worth, sustained fatal injuries in the accident.

The truck driver, identified as 48-year-old Martin Felix Gonzalez-Aceves, was unhurt in the collision.
