Single-vehicle crash on US-62 near MM 378 kills 22-year-old

FLOYD CO., TX – A 22-year-old woman died two weeks ago from injuries sustained in a solo crash along the highway in southern Floyd County, reports Lubbock Avalanche-Journal.

The accident happened at 3:24 a.m. on US-62 near mile marker 378. This is northeast of Lubbock.

Police say that the driver of a southbound 2016 Nissan Rouge failed to navigate a curve in the roadway, causing her to lose control of the SUV. The vehicle overturned somewhere near the west side of the road.

The unrestrained driver, whom authorities have identified as Ashlee Breann Stevens, died at the scene of the accident.
