Motorcyclist killed in crash that downed cable lines near DNT and NW Hwy

DALLAS, TX – A motorcyclist died during morning rush hour Friday in a single-vehicle crash along the DNT in north-central Dallas, reports WFAA News 8.

The accident happened just after 8 a.m. just north of University Park and near the intersection with West Northwest Highway.

Police aren’t yet sure what caused the operator of the motorcycle to lose control along the tollway, but they say he died at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been disclosed, and no other injuries have been linked to the collision at this time.

The accident caused cable lines to fall into the roadway, creating significant delays while officials closed lanes in both directions to clear the scene. A small number of customers lost service as a result of damage.

A full investigation is underway. Our team of writers will post updates to the news blog just as soon as we learn more about the circumstances of the crash.
