Chain-reaction crash on US-75 SB near Renner Rd kills 3

RICHARDSON, TX – Two adults and a child died Thursday night in a multi-vehicle crash along the highway on the north side of Richardson, reports Fox 4 KDFW.

The accident happened on the southbound side of US-75  between President George Bush Turnpike and West Renner Road. This is west of CityLine Park.

Police say that an initial rear-end collision involving a stalled Cadillac SUV and a Lexus SUV spurred a chain-reaction crash involving a semi and three other vehicles. The incident occurred just before midnight.

A passenger from the Cadillac, identified as 19-year-old Alyia Khalid, died at the scene. The driver of the Lexus, identified as 27-year-old Haley Taylor, and her 6-year-old daughter died after transport to an area hospital.

Medics transported five additional occupants of the Cadillac and two people from a Dodge went to the hospital with injuries of varying severity.

Officials closed the southbound side of US-75 for several hours while emergency teams assisted the victims and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
