Workplace accident at factory on E 1st near Riverside kills 1

FORT WORTH, TX – A 44-year-old Hurst man died two Fridays ago in a textile factory accident on the east side of Fort Worth, reports WFAA News 8.

The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. at Fiber Co. Inc., which is located at 3629 East 1st Street. This is north of I-30 and just west of Cargill Meat Solutions.

Emergency responders say the victim was helping to clean the production floor in the factory when he became stuck in a large machine. Authorities declared him deceased at the scene and identified him as Keith Varner.

It’s not yet clear what might have caused Varner to become caught in the machine. Thus far, Fiber Co. has not provided a statement on the incident.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

A full investigation of workplace conditions and the circumstances surrounding the fatality is underway.
