1 adult, 3 teens killed in wrong-way crash on FM 1052 near Imperial

IMPERIAL, TX – A man and three teens died last Wednesday in a wrong-way crash along FM 1053 in northeast Pecos County, reports First Alert 7.

The accident occurred shortly before 7:30 p.m. on FM 1053 between Tubbs Corner and Imperial. This is about 40 miles northeast of Fort Stockton.

Police say that for unknown reasons, two vehicles collided head-on. The crash impact caused both vehicles to ignite, and all three teens in one of the vehicles died at the scene.

Medics airlifted the driver of the other vehicle, identified as 48-year-old Gary Don Liles, to the hospital. Liles died at the hospital from injuries sustained in the accident.

Authorities identified two of the teen victims as Jackie Lee and Jaden Lewis Jurado. They were both 18. The third teen victim was minor.

It’s not yet clear which vehicle entered the wrong side of the road, but a full investigation is underway.
