Multi-vehicle crash at Preston Rd and Lovers Ln kills 1, injures 1
DALLAS, TX – A woman died, and a teen went to the hospital Friday in a crash involving five vehicles at a major intersection in north-central Dallas, reports NBC DFW 5.
The incident occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. at Preston Road and Lovers Lane, which is just northeast of Highland Park High School and west of Holmes Aquatic Center.
Police say that an eastbound Chevy Silverado crashed into a northbound car when the driver of the former vehicle neglected to heed a red light. The car then struck three other vehicles at the light.
The driver of the car, identified as 44-year-old Anna Gonzalez Perez, died at the scene of the accident.
Medics transported a teen passenger from the same car to an area hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the pick up truck attempted to feel the scene, but authorities apprehended him in the area. It’s unclear if he will face charges.
A full investigation is underway.
