Omar David Ramirez of Odessa killed in head-on crash with semi
LOVING CO., TX – A 33-year-old man died Monday afternoon in a wrong-way crash involving an 18-wheeler in western Loving County, reports mrt.
The accident happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. on County Road 300 near mile marker 1 near the city of Mentone. This is about 75 miles west of Odessa.
Police say that a southbound 2002 Chevy Silverado entered the northbound side of County Road 300 and collided head-on with a northbound 2003 Peterbilt 378 semi-truck.
The wrong-way driver, identified as Omar David Ramirez, died at the scene.
The 30-year-old truck driver did not sustain injuries in the collision.
A full investigation is underway to determine what might have caused the victim to veer onto the wrong side of the roadway.
