Matthew Handlon, 32, dies in 2-van crash near Amarillo

POTTER CO., TX – A 32-year-old man sustained fatal injuries last Monday in a wrong-way crash in southeast Potter County, reports Amarillo Globe-News.

Emergency teams responded to TX-136, about 10 miles north of Amarillo, shortly before 10 a.m. Officials have not yet provided a mile marker for the site of the accident.

Police say that a southbound 2020 Ford Transit entered the northbound side of the highway and collided head-on with a northbound 2021 transit van.

The wrong-way driver, identified as Matthew Handlon, died at the scene of the accident. Investigators say he may have experienced a medical episode prior to the crash.

Medics transported the other driver to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
