Richard Belmonte, Thomas Cuellar killed in wrong-way crash
SAN ANTONIO, TX – Two men were fatally injured late last month in a head-on accident on the southwest side of San Antonio, reports KSAT 12.
The collision occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on Sunday, January 26, near the intersection of US-90 and Southwest Loop 410. This is just north of the Valley High North neighborhood.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of an eastbound black pickup truck entered the westbound side of US-90 and crashed head-on into a westbound SUV.
Both drivers died at the scene.
On January 28th, authorities identified the wrong-way driver as 43-year-old Thomas Cuellar.
The driver of the SUV was identified on January 31st as 32-year-old Richard Belmonte.
Authorities have referred to both deaths as accidents.
The investigation is ongoing.
