Adam Ferguson, 26, claimed in semi crash along US-285
REEVES CO., TX – A 26-year-old man sustained fatal injuries Sunday morning in a semi collision on the eastern side of Reeves County, reports First Alert 7.
The crash involved three 18-wheelers and occurred shortly before 10 a.m. near mile marker 250 on US-285.
Police say that a northbound 2014 Kenworth T800 entered the southbound side of the highway and collided head-on with both a 1999 Freightliner and a 1995 Kenworth. The preliminary investigation indicates that a tire malfunction caused the 2014 Kenworth to travel into oncoming traffic.
The wrong-way driver, identified as 26-year-old Adam Ferguson, died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Freightliner semi sustained minor injuries; it’s unclear if they required hospitalization.
The third truck driver was not hurt in the wreck.
A full investigation is underway.
