Robert Gardner IDed as victim in Nacogdoches Union Pacific crash
NACOGDOCHES, TX – A 43-year-old man sustained fatal injuries earlier this week in a work-related crash involving a Union Pacific train in Nacogdoches County.
According to CBS 19, the accident occurred around 4 p.m. on Monday, June 9th, at the railroad crossing near South Fredonia Street and Martin Luther King Boulevard in the city of Nacogdoches.
So far, police have shared very few details regarding the incident, stating simply that a man was struck by a train while working.
Authorities identified the victim as Robert Gardner of Lufkin. Gardner was an employee of Union Pacific.
No other injuries have been referenced in connection to the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
