Houston PD responds to fatal motorcycle crash on Atascocita Rd
HOUSTON, TX – A motorcyclist died early Monday morning in a two-vehicle collision at a busy intersection in northeast Houston, reports Fox 26 Houston.
Emergency crews responded to a major accident around 5 a.m. at the intersection of Atascocita Road and Atascocita Bend Drive, which is just north of the Lindsay/Lyons Park and Sports Complex.
Police say that an eastbound motorcyclist was speeding when their bike struck a westbound SUV as the driver of the latter vehicle made a left turn at the intersection.
The impact of the crash threw the motorcycle operator from his bike, killing him at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the name of deceased.
Medics transported the female driver of the SUV to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
