Lubbock PD investigates collision that killed Brian King, 51
LUBBOCK CO., TX – A 51-year-old man from Colorado died Saturday from injuries sustained Friday in a wrong-way crash along the highway near Lubbock.
According to Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, the accident happened just before 4 a.m. on US-84 near County Road 3100. This is just southeast of Lubbock in the Posey area.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a westbound 2025 Nissan Altima entered the eastbound side of US-84 and collided head on with an eastbound 2023 Ford F250.
The driver of the Nissan, identified as Brian King, succumbed to his injuries over the weekend at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
Medics transported both occupants of the Ford to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Delays along US-84 in the area of the crash were likely Friday morning while emergency crews worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
