Joab Acosta IDed as victim in Mountain Creek collision

DALLAS, TX – A 41-year-old man died this past Sunday morning in a three-vehicle crash at a southwest Dallas intersection, reports WFAA News 8.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to a chain-reaction collision at Belt Line and Camp Wisdom Roads. This is northeast of Joe Pool Lake and Cedar Hill State Park.

Police say that one vehicle rear-ended another vehicle at a stop light, causing the second vehicle to hit the rear of a third car. The driver that initiated the crash sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Authorities identified the victim as Joab Acosta.

Additional injuries have been cited in connection to the accident, but officials haven’t said how many people were hurt, nor have they commented on the severity of those injuries.

Motorists likely faced delays in the area of Belt Line and Camp Wisdom while teams gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
