Baytown PD investigates fatal crash at TX-146, Crystal Blvd

BAYTOWN, TX – One person died, and two people were hurt this past Friday in a wrong-way collision along the highway in west-central Chambers County.

According to Fox 26 Houston, the accident occurred sometime in the evening along TX-146 just south of Speedway 146 in the Tanglewood subdivision.

Officials say that a northbound BMW evaded an attempted police stop in Harris County for reckless driving, leading police on a chase through Baytown. The vehicle ultimately collided with another car head-on near Crystal Boulevard.

The impact of the crash threw the driver from the BMW, and he died at the scene. Authorities have not yet released his name to the public.

Medics transported a man and a woman from the other car to an area hospital. They are expected to survive their injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
