Multi-vehicle crash on US-87 at March Rd claims Tracy Daigle

SAN ANGELO, TX – A Grape Creek woman sustained fatal injuries Tuesday in a multi-vehicle collision along the highway in north Tom Green County, reports Concho Valley Homepage.

Shortly before 8 a.m., emergency crews responded to a major accident along US-87 at March Road in San Angelo, which is around 90 miles southwest of Abilene.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of a southbound Ford Focus ignored a stop sign when turning onto US-87 from March Road. A westbound Ford Fusion struck the Focus, dislodging a rear tire. A westbound Chevy SUV then hit the tire, and a Toyota pickup truck rear-ended the SUV.

Authorities pronounced the unrestrained driver of the southbound vehicle deceased at the scene, identifying her as 56-year-old Tracy Danielle Daigle.

The driver of the Focus sustained minor injuries; it’s unclear if he required hospitalization.

The other two drivers were unhurt in the collision.

Motorists likely encountered rush-hour delays Tuesday morning while teams attended to the victims and worked to clear the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
