Man charged in DUI crash that killed Totiana Samuels
FORT WORTH, TX – A 22-year-old woman died, and two others were hurt early this month in a wrong-way collision caused by a drunk driver in central Fort Worth.
According to NBC DFW 5, the accident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 2nd, along the westbound side of I-30 between Hemphill Street and Summit Avenue. This is just north of Cook Children’s Medical Center in Bricktown.
Police say that 45-year-old Gary Morton’s eastbound vehicle entered the westbound side of I-30 and crashed head on into a westbound car carrying three people.
One of the people in the car, identified as Totiana Nicole Samuels, sustained fatal injuries.
Medics transported the other two occupants of the vehicle to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities arrested and charged Morton with intoxication assault.
A full investigation is underway.
