Giovanni Quinones IDed as victim in Hunt Co. solo crash
CELESTE, TX – A single-vehicle crash in Hunt County killed one child and injured another Tuesday morning, reports The Dallas Morning News.
The accident occurred shortly before 1:15 a.m. on the southbound side of County Road 1102 approaching FM 2194 in Celeste, which is about 45 miles northeast of Plano.
Police say that Julian Rangel Rivera was intoxicated when he lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway, causing the car to overturn.
A nine-year-old boy, identified as Giovanni Quinones, died at the scene of the crash.
Medics transported a second child to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
Authorities charged Rivera with intoxication manslaughter.
A full investigation is underway.
