Roberta Willhelm fatally injured in Gardendale two-vehicle crash

GARDENDALE, TX – An elderly woman sustained fatal injuries earlier this month in two-vehicle collision in northeast Ector County, reports First Alert 7.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 13th, emergency crews responded to the intersection of Saddlehorn and East Cottonwood Road, which is on the far eastern side of Gardendale, about 20 miles northwest of Midland.

Police say that an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado collided with a westbound Buick when the driver of the Buick neglected to heed right of way and turned left in the path of the Chevy pickup truck.

The driver of the Buick died in the hospital two days after the crash. Authorities identified the victim as 76-year-old Roberta Hall Willhelm of Gardendale.

Medics transported the driver of the pickup truck to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A full investigation is underway.
