Collision on US-287 near Midlothian claims Jalalat Honesty

MIDLOTHIAN, TX – A teen girl died, and two people were hurt last Wednesday in a two-vehicle collision along the highway in northwest Ellis County, reports Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m., emergency crews were called to the intersection of US-287 and Prairie Ridge Boulevard in northwest Midlothian. This is about 27 miles south of Grand Prairie and 28 miles southwest of Dallas.

Police say that a southbound Ford pickup truck collided with a northbound Toyota when the latter vehicle initiated a left turn onto Prairie Ridge Boulevard.

Medics transported both drivers and a passenger from the Toyota to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The passenger, who has since been identified as 16-year-old Jalalat Honesty, died not long after transport.

No charges have been announced thus far, and a full investigation is underway.
