Izayah Jacob Wood fatally struck on US-90 near Gunsmoke Dr

SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 19-year-old male pedestrian was fatally struck last Thursday along the highway in Bexar County, reports KSAT 12.

Around 12:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to an auto-pedestrian crash in the area of US-90 near Gunsmoke Drive, which is just west of Lackland Air Force Base on the west side of San Antonio.

Police say that car hit a man as he attempted to cross the highway on foot.

Authorities declared the victim, identified as Izayah Jacob Wood, deceased at the scene.

The driver involved in the accident stopped to render aid and to speak with police.

A full investigation is underway.
