Larry Kimacovich fatally struck near TX-361, Howard Blvd

PORT ARANSAS, TX – An elderly cyclist from Canada was fatally struck on Valentine’s Day in eastern Nueces County, reports KIIITV 3 News.

Around 7 p.m., emergency teams responded to an accident involving a bicycle, a pickup truck, and an SUV near the intersection of Howard Boulevard and TX-361 in Port Aransas, which is around 39 miles northeast of Corpus Christi.

The cyclist, police say, was riding on the sidewalk near the intersection when a Ford pickup left the roadway and hit him, pushing the cyclist into the path of an SUV on TX-361.

The bicyclist, who has since been identified as 68-year-old Larry Kimacovich, died at the scene of the accident.

At this time, no charges have been filed against either of the drivers.

A full investigation is underway.
