Edgar Barraza IDed as victim in head-on crash near Garden City
GLASSCOCK CO., TX – A rear-end collision involving a semi-truck fatally injured a 28-year-old man on Tuesday in central Glasscock County, reports KTEN 10.
The two-vehicle crash happened at 6 p.m. on TX-158 near mile marker 314, which is just northwest of Garden City and about 30 miles southeast of Midland.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a Chevy Silverado collided with the rear of an 18-wheeler on TX-158.
The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Edgar Abdon Barraza of Midland, died at the scene of the crash.
Medics transported the 56-year-old truck driver to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Drivers likely faced delays along TX-158 Tuesday evening while crews attended to the victims and worked to clear the scene.
