Bus, bicycle collide in SW Arlington, killing William Roberts

ARLINGTON, TX – An elderly cyclist sustained fatal injuries last Wednesday in a crash involving a school bus in southwest Arlington, reports CBS News.

The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Treecrest Drive and the I-20 service road, which is just west of the Walmart Supercenter and the US-287 interchange.

Police say that an Arlington ISD school bus struck the eastbound cyclist as the bus driver turned east from northbound Treecrest Drive.

The cyclist, who has since been identified as 67-year-old William Roberts, died after transport to an area hospital.

Neither the bus driver nor any of the students on the bus were hurt in the crash.

The driver stopped to render aid and to speak with police.

There’s no word at this time regarding charges.

A full investigation is underway.
