2 seriously injured in semi crash on US-287 NB near Decatur

WISE CO., TX – A collision involving an 18-wheeler in central Wise County seriously injured two people on Tuesday afternoon, reports Wise County Messenger.

The two-vehicle crash occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. on the northbound side of US-287 just northwest of Decatur.

It’s not yet clear what may have caused an SUV and a semi-truck to collide along the highway. Police say that both occupants of the SUV became entrapped. Following extrication efforts, medics airlifted the victims to an area hospital with critical injuries.

No other injuries have been reported in connection to the accident.

Motorists experienced delays along US-287 northbound Tuesday afternoon while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.

There’s no word yet regarding charges.
