Samuel Lookadoo killed in wrong-way collision near Lamesa
MARTIN CO., TX – A 46-year-old Lubbock man sustained fatal injuries Monday in a head-on crash in northwest Martin County, reports KCBD 11.
The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of TX-349 and CR 4800 in the Patricia area, about 15 miles southwest of Lamesa.
Police say that the 21-year-old driver of a southbound Cadillac SRX entered the northbound side of TX-349 and collided head-on with a northbound Mercedes.
The driver of the Mercedes, identified as Samuel Lookadoo, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the collision.
The wrong-way driver, since identified as Francisco Alex Ramos Valasquez, required hospitalization for non-life-threatening injuries.
No charges have been announced thus far.
A full investigation is underway.
