Pedestrian fatally struck on US-183 SB near Spicewood Springs Rd

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian early Friday morning, reports KVUE.

The accident occurred shortly before 4 a.m. on North US-183 between Spicewood Springs Road and Hunters Chase Drive in northwest Austin.

The victim, who was trying to cross the roadway on foot, was fatally struck on the southbound side of US-183. Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.

The driver involved in the collision stopped to render aid and to speak with police.

Officials closed the highway in the area of the crash for just over six hours.
