Girl, 5, loses life to scooter-vehicle crash in Fort Worth’s Greenway area
FORTH WORTH, TX – A 5-year-old girl was killed in a scooter-vehicle crash in the Greenway neighborhood on Sunday, Fox7Austin reports.
Forth Worth Police were dispatched to the 1900th block of Portland Street. They said the incident unfolded when the 5-year-old girl was riding her scooter and coming out of a driveway when she was struck by a vehicle.
Police said the girl went directly into the path of the vehicle, and the driver pressed on their brakes, but was unable to stop in time and avoid a crash.
The driver performed CPR on the girl prior to the first responders’ arrival.
EMS crews rushed the girl to a hospital, where she later died.
Police have not released the victim’s name, and have not reported any pending charges for the driver.
