2 killed in collision-chemical explosion at Delta Park in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, TX – Two men lost their lives as a result of a two-vehicle collision involving an unknown chemical at Delga Park on Thursday, NBCDFW reports.

Police said the collision happened before 11:30 a.m. on the 1940th block of Delga Street. Police said a driver crashed their car into a parked car. A chemical explosion followed, but it’s not immediately clear if that explosion was the cause of the crash, although officials said they found a chemical in one of the vehicles.

The impact of the crash caused one man to succumb to his injuries in his car. Another man, who received on-site medical care from EMS, died just before being taken to the hospital.

Officials did not release the identities of the two men, and also said one fire fighter went to the hospital for possible exposure to the chemical.

Hazmat crews were called to the scene to clean up the chemicals.
