Ngan Thi Xuan Nguyen, 19, killed in bicycle-vehicle crash in Richardson
RICHARDSON, TX – A 19-year-old man, later identified as Ngan Thi Xuan Nguyen, was killed in a bicycle-vehicle crash in Richardson on Monday, WFAA reports.
The incident occurred after 5 p.m. on the 1400th block of East Arapaho Road. Police said Nguyen was cycling and crossing the parking lot and exit when he was struck by a man driving a Toyota Avalon.
The Toyota driver was exiting a parking lot and preparing to turn left onto East Arapahoe when the passenger side of his car crashed into Nguyen.
Nguyen later succumbed to his injuries, while the driver was uninjured.
Police confirmed the driver was the sole occupant of his vehicle and have not said whether they cited him or said if he could face criminal charges.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
