Driver charged in hit-and-run crash that killed Javari Stripling
DALLAS, TX – A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed a man named Javari Stripling on Thursday, Fox4News said.
The incident happened around 11 p.m. An arrest warrant affidavit reveals that Stripling tried to run across Buckner Boulevard near Rothingham Road when he was struck by a Ford Crown Victoria.
Thanks to security footage, police were able to identify the car and its license plate number in order to track down and ultimately arrest the fleeing driver.
The driver, identified as Derrick Mason, told police that he tried to avoid a crash. Upon hitting Stripling, he panicked and fled the scene.
Mason is now being charged with collision involving death.
