Pedestrian fatally struck by train in Garland
GARLAND, TX – A pedestrian was killed in a collision involving a train in Garland on Friday.
Fox4News said the crash happened around 7 a.m. on the DART tracks near Newman Street and Austin Street. The pedestrian was trying to cross the tracks before a Blue Line train and ended up getting struck by it.
The pedestrian, whose identity has not been disclosed, died from their injuries at the scene.
Officials had to shut down Garland Road between Walnut Street and State Street. Those on board the Blue Line train were transported between the Forest Lane/Jupiter and Downtown Garland stations.
