Motorcyclist Darryl Cloyd’s life claimed in crash with BMW in Lavon
LAVON, TX – A 61-year-old male motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a BMW in Lavon on Sunday, according to WFAA.
The crash happened before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 205 and County Road 485.
Investigation details from the Texas Department of Transportation reveal that a 24-year-old man, driving a BMW, failed to yield to a northbound motorcycle approaching the intersection, leading the motorcycle to crash into the back of the BMW.
The motorcyclist, identified as Darryl Cloyd, a Lavon local, and the BMW driver, identified as Darren Dahleiden, from Plano, were rushed to a hospital. There, Cloyd succumbed to his injuries, while Dahleiden was treated for minor injuries.
A full investigation remains underway.
