Jacob Gonzalez, 22, killed in hit-and-run collision in Dallas’ Elam
DALLAS, TX – A 22-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run collision that happened in the Elam neighborhood over the Halloween weekend, Fox4News said.
The incident happened before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of Elam Road and South Buckner Boulevard. Dallas police said a driver of a Ford SUV, traveling west on Elam Road, drove at a high rate of speed and ran a red light before crashing into a Chevrolet Camaro traveling south on southbound South Buckner Boulevard.
The impact caused the Camaro to crash into a fence surrounding a construction site.
The impact left the Camaro driver, 22-year-old Jacob Gonzalez, in critical condition. Dallas Fire Rescue/EMS rushed Gonzalez to a hospital, where he later died.
The Ford SUV driver did not remain at the scene, and police have not released their name at this time.
