Jennifer Gonzalez Killed in DUI Crash on State Highway 288 near FM 1462 in Brazoria County

Brazoria County, TX. (February 28, 2023)- 19-year-old Jennifer Gonzalez was killed in a two-vehicle crash on February 26, 2023, in Brazoria County, Texas.  The accident occurred just before 4:30 a.m. on State Highway 288 near FM 1462.  Deputies reported that the driver of a Chevrolet pickup truck crashed into a GMC pickup truck that was pulled over on the right shoulder of the roadway.  Gonzalez, a passenger in the Chevrolet, was transported UTMB Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.  The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to the hospital for treatment.  The driver was later arrested and charged with intoxication assault.  No further details have been provided at the time.  The crash remains under investigation.
