Semi strikes, kills pedestrian on I-20 in Balch Springs

BALCH SPRINGS, TX – One person died on Saturday morning when an 18-wheeler struck them along the interstate in Balch Springs, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened at 8:53 a.m. on the eastbound side of I-20 near Seagoville Road, which is just north of U.S. 175.

The investigation indicates that a driver was standing alongside his disabled vehicle in the center lane of I-20 when a tractor-trailer rear-ended the vehicle and struck the pedestrian.

The driver of the disabled vehicle died after transport to a local hospital.

No other injuries have been reported in connection with the accident.

A full investigation is underway.
