Crane accident at new school in Celina kills worker

CELINA, TX – A worker for Pogue Construction died after a crane collapsed at the new Dan Christie Elementary School in Celina, reports NBC DFW 5.

The incident happened on Friday afternoon at the construction site for the new school, which is located off of Crutchfield Drive.

The investigation thus far indicates that the crane’s boom collapsed onto the roof of the school, at which point the truck holding the crane fell on its side.

A representative for the construction company says the crane belonged to a subcontractor.

In addition to the victim, one other person sustained minor injuries in the accident.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.

A full investigation is underway.
