Pedestrian struck, killed on S Cooper St in Arlington

ARLINGTON, TX – A 71-year-old female pedestrian died early Sunday morning after a vehicle struck her on a busy roadway in Arlington, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened around 3:17 a.m. in the area of 8100 South Cooper Street, which is near West Main Street.

The investigation indicates that the woman was walking on the southbound side of Cooper Street in an area without a pedestrian crosswalk when the pickup truck struck her. It was dark outside at the time of the collision, and the victim was wearing dark clothing.

Police say the driver of the pickup truck did not show any signs of intoxication and is not facing charges at this time.

The investigation continues.
