Pickup vs. semi crash on I-20WB in Lindale kills 1, hurts 3

LINDALE, TX – A 20-year-old man died, and three people went to the hospital Tuesday after a pickup truck collided with an 18-wheeler along the interstate in Lindale.

According to KLTV 7, the incident happened around 8 p.m. on the westbound side of I-20. The exact location of the crash is unclear at this time.

The investigation thus far indicates that a westbound GMC Sierra pickup truck carrying four occupants struck the back left side of an 18-wheeler. The collision caused the pickup truck to overturn.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as Khaled J. Al Masalmah, died after transport to a local hospital.

His three passengers were hurt in the accident, but the extent of their injuries is unclear at this time.

The driver of the semi-truck, identified as 39-year-old Shaludzko Bahdan of Florida, was not injured in the wreck.

A full investigation is underway.
