Vehicle strikes, kills female pedestrian on Hwy 287 near Berry St

FORT WORTH, TX – A woman died in Fort Worth early Saturday morning after a vehicle struck her along the highway near the Burchill area, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened at 6:05 a.m. on Highway 287 near East Berry Street, which is just west of Rocketship Dennis Dunkins Elementary School.

Police have not yet commented on how the accident happened, but they say that the victim died at the scene. Authorities have not yet publicly identified the pedestrian.

It’s still unclear whether the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained on site to speak with authorities.

Officials closed the highway in the area of the accident while crews investigated and worked to clear the scene.
