18-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash on Hwy 377 in Roanoke

ROANOKE, TX – One man died, and another went to the hospital after a motorcyclist collided with a sedan along the highway in Roanoke on Saturday, reports DFW Scanner.

The incident happened just after 10:14 p.m. in the area of Highway 377 southbound and Byron Nelson Boulevard, which is just east of Roanoke Skatepark and near Cannon Parkway Park.

Police say they attempted to stop the motorcycle for a traffic violation, but the driver of the bike sped away southbound and crashed into the rear of a sedan.

The 18-year-old motorcyclist died after transport to a local hospital. Authorities have not yet released his identity to the public.

The driver of the sedan, a 50-year-old man, was treated at the hospital for non-critical injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
