Wrong-way collision on US-287 near Plainview Rd kills 2, injures 2
MIDLOTHIAN, TX – Two 38-year-old women died on Saturday from injuries sustained in a wrong-way crash along the highway in Midlothian, reports WFAA 8.
The incident happened just after midnight on US-287 between Plainview Road and North Midlothian Parkway, which is west of Hidden Haven Lake.
Police say that a northbound vehicle entered the southbound lanes of US-287 and collided head on with a southbound vehicle, killing the driver and a passenger from the wrong-way vehicle. Police identified the victims as Lakeshia Savala and Joanna Cain.
Medics transported two others, another passenger from the wrong-way vehicle and the driver of the southbound vehicle, to the hospital with serious injuries.
Officials warned of closures along the highway in the area of the crash on Saturday.
